PMHNP-BC

Brent Edwards is a board-certified psychiatric-mental health nurse practitioner at Pacific Health Systems in Oceanside, California. A graduate of Duke University School of Nursing, he brings over 15 years of healthcare experience—including a distinguished career in the U.S. Navy Nurse Corps—to a practice defined by clinical rigor and genuine partnership. He treats individuals ages 6 and older across a broad clinical spectrum: mood and anxiety disorders, ADHD, treatment-resistant depression, serious mental illness (SMI), and dual-diagnosis substance use conditions. His background spans inpatient stabilization, community mental health, and crisis residential programs, giving him the range to manage both acute and long-term psychiatric needs.

Brent’s practice is built on shared autonomy. Rather than a top-down approach, appointments are structured as a partnership where he provides clear, evidence-based options tailored to each person’s life and goals, equipping clients with the clinical guidance and diagnostic reasoning to navigate their own care with confidence.

Beyond psychopharmacology and diagnostic evaluation, Brent holds certification training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-I) and has completed advanced training in Motivational Interviewing. Additionally…. SPRAVATO, KETAMINE, TMS, ETC…

All new patients are seen in person at the Oceanside location to establish a safe clinical foundation. Telehealth transitions are considered collaboratively once stability is confirmed.

As a veteran, Brent has firsthand understanding of the stressors faced by military personnel, veterans, and their families, including combat-related PTSD, moral injury, and military sexual trauma. Pacific Health Systems accepts most major commercial insurance plans, TRICARE, TriWest, Medicare, and Medi-Cal.
