Frequently Asked Questions

Have questions about TMS therapy? Here are answers to some of the most common concerns from our patients.

What is ONE-D (Single-Day TMS)?

ONE-D is an accelerated TMS option that delivers 20 iTBS sessions in as little as one day, intended as a time condensed therapeutic course.

ONE-D uses repeated brief iTBS trains with short breaks so the brain receives a concentrated neuroplastic “dose.” This is combined with medication augmentation to enhance cortical excitability/response to the stimulation.

Candidates are usually individuals with treatment-resistant depression and people who need a very limited time option. Everyone must pass psychiatric screening and be cleared by a TMS-trained psychiatrist.

When delivered with proper screening, mapping, and psychiatric supervision, ONE-D has been safely used in clinical settings. Common short-term effects may include scalp discomfort, headache, and temporary fatigue.

Improvement can differ from person to person. Some individuals may begin to feel better within a few days, while others may experience more significant benefits over several weeks. ONE-D is designed to help speed up the body’s biological response, but the timeline varies for each individual.

ONE-D is an accelerated treatment option that requires self-payment. Most insurance providers do not cover single-day treatment formats, though a few may offer limited benefits. We recommend checking your insurance benefits to understand your available coverage and potential costs.

Expect to spend most of the day at the clinic, so bring snacks, headphones, and comfortable clothing. Stay hydrated and be ready for short breaks of about 20–25 minutes between sessions. Our accelerated treatment room offers a comfortable, private space where you can relax between sessions.
